3 Months Old!

Ruby Kate is 3 months old! She is so much fun right now. She smiles wildly and wriggles with excitement. I forgot how cute the whole body wiggle is in a little baby :)

Ruby is starting to grab onto things and loves looking at her hanging toys, the fan, faces, and pretty much anything moving or with lights. She coos and "talks" when you talk to her and is full of smiles. She is still spending some time in her bouncy chair, and laying under her play gym. She still doesn't like the swing all that much and prefers to be held. She loves to cuddle, just like Eleanor did. She likes the moby wrap, and I've been playing around with different ways to hold her in it. I've actually kind of figured out how to feed her while she is in there.

She isn't a fan of tummy time, but what baby is? At least she has an adorable quilt that my friend Allie made that helps her through it. Allie also made a coordinating quilt for Miss E which is super special---Ellie lays on hers and tries to entertain Ruby during tummy time, pretty cute!

We got to spend a big chunk of this month with Grandma Rose (As Ellie calls her). She went back to Iowa on the 12th and we miss her a bunch. She made Ruby this beautiful quilt that I know she'll treasure as she gets older. We talked a lot about how much Ruby changed while my grandma was here. She came on January 12th so Ruby was just two weeks old. She got to see a lot of changing over those two months.

We went out to lunch with Allie and her little girl last month. Miss Evelyn is two months younger than Ruby Kate. It is a big difference right now but in a matter of months it will seem like nothing. I can't wait for all of our future play dates. Ha! So this was their first "meeting."

Ruby is going to be baptized by Jason's grandfather on Mother's Day. It is much later then Eleanor's so I'm a little worried the dress won't fit her so I went ahead an put it on her so that we could at least take some pictures. We have another dress that Jason's grandmother made that she will probably wear for her baptism, it all depends on what fits in a month! This is the dress that my mom made and Eleanor wore when she was baptized.

We are super lucky that Ruby sleeps really, really well. She pretty much goes to sleep on her own around 8 (we swaddle her and sometimes lay beside her or just put her in the crib and she falls asleep) and she sleeps until about 3, nurses for about 5 minutes and falls right back asleep. Then I wake her up around 6 just enough to get her to eat and fall back asleep so that I can go to work. It is weird...I sleep so much that I don't feel like I have a little baby at all. I love it!

Last but not least, a very happy birthday to my mom whose birthday is today! We've been joking that "30 is the new 26" in our family because now we have three 30th birthdays (Sue, June and Ruby)--Zoe and I share the 26th along with a bunch of our cousins.
