"Yuck!"

Our poor little sickie girl! Ellie has been doing really well considering her whole world was changed two weeks ago but two nights ago we thought she had taken a serious plunge in her progress. I took her up for bed around 8 and at 1 AM we were still trying to get her to bed. We decided to let her cry for a little while because we didn't know what else to do. Eventually Ruby woke up and Jason took over because Ellie didn't seem to be calming down. After feeding Ruby I went to check on them and they were both passed out on the floor so I let them stay there sleeping.

An hour or two later Jason came into our room with Ellie...dressed in new pajamas. Ellie had gotten sick all over both of them....which is where the "Yuck" comes in! Ellie is a little bit of a clean freak (Thanks to her parents!) and kept saying "Yuck, Yucky, Wipe!" But she was all cleaned up and so we figured she was just so upset that she got sick and we'd for the sake of our sanity and hers let her cuddle up with us and go to bed for the rest of the night. About 20 minutes later she was holding onto me and errp....all over me and our bed. "Yuck" again! This continued for a couple of hours. We finally just put her in the bath tub and started the laundry. I called my mom for back up and she came right in time to give us a little bit of a nap before a long day with one sick toddler.

This was our first experience with a toddler stomach virus. Not fun at all! She was pretty pitiful and you could tell just felt terrible. Having a newborn to add to the mix added to the chaos but we made it through. Ellie spent most of the day watching TV, drinking juice and eating saltines. By dinner time she seemed to feel better and was keeping food down. She went to bed easily and today seems about 75% recovered. We're hoping she is running on all cylinders soon and that none of us catch whatever little bug she had.
