3 Weeks Old!

Ruby is 3 weeks old today! In some ways it feels like she has been here for much longer but I really can't believe she is already 3 weeks old. She is doing really well. We are starting to figure out some of her likes and dislikes which makes life easier for all of us! Unlike Baby Eleanor, Ruby doesn't really like to be swaddled. She likes to have her hands up by her head when she sleeps and doesn't settle down very well if she is swaddled. She also is pretty particular about having a dry diaper. Other than that she is generally happy...as long as she is well fed, has a dry diaper and isn't swaddled we are all good to go. I think she is going through a little growth spurt right now because at night she wants to eat, eat, eat...

She is starting to spend a little bit more time awake, although last night that time was at 4 AM so we'll have to work on that....It is fun to have her more aware and up and looking around. Usually she has been waking up 2 times at night, about every 3-4 hours which I can't complain about. She is a wonderful nurser still. My only problem is that I fall asleep in the rocking chair which is not very comfortable sleeping :)

Ruby is still not very interested in the pacifier but we can get her to go for it every once in awhile...we will keep trying! She often tries to get her hands in her mouth but isn't very successful.

Today we took Ruby down to Smithfield to meet her Great Great Grandmommie Pearl! We had a nice visit and Grandmommie was thrilled to meet little Ruby.
