We came to the realization this week that we are having a baby really soon. I mean not next week but this pregnancy has gone really extremely fast. The doctors have told us to expect her to arrive early as Eleanor did. Although she may not, they said often your first birth is a pretty good indication of how the second will turn out. If that is the case we will have this baby in the beginning of December. That means we have 3 months!
3 months is not a long time and especially not a long time when you are pregnant and have a toddler that you are chasing around! So tonight we stopped at Babies R Us and got some of the things we need. We have already experienced the stress of being unprepared when a baby was born so we have decided to try to avoid that this time. I called Medela and ordered new tubing for my pump and we bought the other parts tonight. We also got bottle nipples...figured that would be a nice thing to have new. I resisted the urge to buy newborn diapers because they weren't on sale...although it did excite me a bit to get those teeny tiny little diapers.
Really there isn't much else that we need. We are doing our final stroller research but I think we've decided on the Joovy Ergo Caboose. It is the only stroller and a half (they have a place for toddlers to "sit/stand" that holds the baby seat in the front, near the parent. I like this idea A LOT and think it would be our best option since Ellie will only be two and not really old enough for the sit/stand feature. Then when the baby is a little older she will be able to handle it. I'm thinking I'll get this ordered this weekend so that it is off the list.
In other baby related news...I am starting to feel this baby move all the time. It is funny how it goes from being small movements to bigger, clunky more kick-like movements fairly rapidly. I'm still pretty comfortable but she is growing for sure! The most noticeable change right now for me is that I am super hungry all the sudden. I think even Ellie is starting to notice that my belly is getting bigger. She comes up and pats my belly, like "uhh...mom, something is going on here..." I did start thinking about the awful leg cramps that I had in the last trimester with Ellie. Yuck! Not looking forward to that!
